Despite turning 36 next month, one thing I have certainly held on to from my childhood is my sweet tooth. That’s why I was so excited to team up with Swizzels and offer my readers a fantastic giveaway. We are all familiar with Swizzels – they’re the sweets of our childhood! From Parma Violets and Love Hearts, they were my favourite pocket money treat.

We opted to try the Retro Premium Red Sweet Hamper with a whopping 970g of sweets. The hamper arrives well packaged and who doesn’t love sweets being delivered directly to their door?!
The hamper was jam packed full of sweets. The box was literally full to the top. Sometimes hampers can be a little disappointing with more packaging and fillers than actual goodies. This definitely isn’t the case here.
The whole family were excited to get stuck in and there was something in there for everyone. As you can see there’s a huge selection of sweets and lollies, including packs!
Inside my hamper there was the following:

- Drumstick lollies
- Love Hearts
- Drumstick sweets
- Squashies
- Double dip
- and so much more.
I also love that you can personalise your hamper with your very own message for that extra personal touch.
It was a huge hit in our house and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another box for a gift. It’s the perfect treat for anyone with a sweet-tooth.

There is just something so wonderful about these sweets which have remained (largely) unchanged since our childhoods, isn’t there? I always really disliked the texture of rainbow drops but all the others were firm favourites (except squashies, which didn’t exist and actually for some bizarre reason I still have never got around to trying…just had a look and they’ve only been around 9 years…!)
I think the fruit lollies are the most nostalgic for me – my overriding memory is them being used at the school fetes! You know that game where you had a board (usually a treasure map or similar) full of holes with lollies stuck in each hole and some of them had coloured bottoms, and you had to find a coloured lolly to win? Oh happy days
