The life of a mum is often a busy one. In fact, they often spend a great deal of time, making sure everyone else in the family is healthy and happy. Unfortunately, because they are so busy with all of this, they can sometimes let their own health issues slide. Something that is never a good idea. To that end, be sure you are not ignoring any of the common health issues below.
Mental health issues
Maternal mental health is just as important as physical health, and mums as a group can be at risk of several conditions here. After all, they have to deal with the massive hormonal and physical changes of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, as well as the significant life changes that having a child brings. Such as reduced income, less sleep, and sometimes social isolation. After all, there are only so many conversations you can have about Peppa Pig until you start craving something more intellectually stimulating.

With that in mind, to be as healthy and happy as possible, mums genuinely do need to take care of their mental health as well as their physical. Sometimes that may include making changes to diet and exercise or indulging in a bit of self care. Other times it may mean reaching out for help when things get tough. In fact, there is also a range of sources that offer mental health help that can be accessed quickly and easily online.
Nether health issues
Pssst! Everyone has issues with their nether regions like thrush or bacterial vaginosis from time to time, especially if you have gone through the processes of pregnancy and birth! Of course, it can be all too easy to ignore such things as they can be a little embarrassing to talk about!
The good news is that it is now easier than it’s ever been to get treatments for these uncomfortable conditions. In fact, you can even get bv treatment over the counter in pharmacies now. This then means as long as you know which of the ailments you are suffering from, some you can find out by clicking the previous link, you don’t have to waste precious time with Dr’s appointments. These being pretty much like gold dust at the moment anyway!
That thing that has been at the back of your mind for a while (but you’ve been putting off)
Many of us have these. Whether it’s a mole our or back that isn’t looking too great, to the fact that we feel exhausted even after a good night’s sleep. Unfortunately, for busy mums, it’s usually the squeaky wheel that gets the oil. That is, the seeming smaller problems can be ignored or forgotten.
However, small problems can turn into much bigger problems if we leave them without investigation. In fact, often, when we catch things early, we have a much better time managing them more effectively.
Therefore if you have that one thing you’ve been worried about but so far have ignored, it’s time to make time to get it checked out. Even if it is just scheduling a telephone call with your Drs office to discuss what steps to take next.
