We had a fantastic time at Brickburn back in 2019. It was the world’s first Paw Patrol brick trail and it took us around the centre of Blackburn searching for Paw Patrol characters. The kids (and the grownups!) loved it.

We were therefore so excited to hear about Brickosaurs coming to Blackburn this summer. Blackburn BID (Business Improvement District) are again funding another fantastic free event for families in the heart of Blackburn. This years Brickburn combines the two things that most kids love – building bricks and dinosaurs!

Located throughout the town centre, the Brickosaurs trail will be formed by fifteen amazing brick model dinosaurs, including a 2m tall Velociraptor and a Parasaurolophus measuring over 3m in length.

If you download the Experience Blackburn app you’ll have access to the interactive trail, along with a quiz, and both offer visitors the chance to win some fantastic prizes. There will also be a free trail map available to visitors.

Confirmed venues include:

  • Trespass, The Mall
  • Rhode Island Coffee, The Mall
  • Victoria Court, The Mall
  • New Look, The Mall
  • Blackburn Market – mini trail
  • Ainsworth Street (rear of Boots), The Mall
  • Primark, The Mall
  • Grays Outfitters, Northgate
  • Morrisons
  • Blackburn Cathedral, Darwen Street / Cathedral Square
  • Hobkirks Sewing Machines, Darwen Street
  • King George’s Hall, Northgate
  • Blackburn Library, Town Hall Street

We found with the Paw Patrol trail that it was a great opportunity to do some shopping around the mall while also hunting for the characters. The trail is so conveniently located so easy to walk around, even for little legs! We parked at the mall and it was a great base to explore the trail.

The Brickosaurs trail will be running from the 20th August until 1st September 2021, making it the perfect end of summer day out. We’ll be combining our back to school shopping with the trail, and we cannot wait!
