Blackpool Tower Circus Review
During our trip to Blackpool we tried to squeeze in as many attractions as possible, including Coral Island and Sea Life Blackpool. One thing I really wanted to do is visit the Blackpool Tower Circus. I’d heard such brilliant things about it and it seems to be the “must-do” attraction when in Blackpool.
Location of Blackpool Tower Circus
The Circus is situated at the base of Blackpool Tower between its four legs. The tower itself you can’t miss! It’s positioned on Blackpool’s central promenade and it’s visible for miles around. We walked down from our hotel next to the Pleasure Beach but there’s a massive carpark just around the corner from the tower and also close to other major attractions.

Blackpool Tower Circus Review
We attended the 2.30pm on a weekday and it wasn’t overly busy so we had no problem getting a good seat. The circus can accommodate 1300 audience members and the first two rows are reserved as they are sold separately at a different price.
There’s a bar selling refreshments before the performance and during the interval. There’s also the opportunity to buy light up toys from the ringside, along with someone doing face painting.
The show had everything you would expect from a traditional circus with a Bollywood twist. Our four year old loved Mooky and Mr Boo the clowns. The duo have worked at the Blackpool Tower circus for over 25 years so have plenty of experience in entertaining crowds. The circus itself has been running since 1894 and is the oldest permanent circus arena in the whole world!
Our older two were entranced by the acts. My eldest particularly loved the dangerous stunts performed by a daring duo, including knife throwing and walking blindfolded atop a giant circular cage. We’ve all seen dangerous acts performed on TV but it’s such a difference experience watching them live! It really brings home just how dangerous these acts are when they’re happening right in front of you.
The trapeze artists were spectacular and an error made by one just showed how complicated the tricks were.

The show ended with a fantastic water finale, as every Blackpool Tower Circus performance does. The arena features a hydraulic floor which sinks and fills with water for a spectacular ending to the show.
Overall experience of Blackpool Tower Circus
Visiting the Blackpool Tower Circus is a must do when in the area. There are a variety of seating options, although we had the standard tickets and still had a fantastic view.
The standard tickets start at £46 for a family of four which is really good value. If you are planning on visiting more than one Blackpool attraction it may be worth considering a combination ticket to receive a discount. For times, prices and options see the Blackpool Tower website.

I haven’t been to Blackpool in years! My kids always enjoy visiting the circus so we’d love this, seems like good value too.
I never knew there was a circus there, but it looks a great idea for something to do and experience if you are in the area. That beach is huge!!
I’ve not been to Blackpool in years. Sounds like the circus is a great reason to go visit with the kids. They’d love to go on a short break there and visit all the great local attractions.
We are hoping to check out the circus carnival soon, thanks for this post it has come at the right time

I’ve never been to Blackpool before, I didn’t realise they had a circus. I thought it was all just fairground rides. I love the circus! I had a big circus themed party for my 40th.
