If you’ve read my blog before you’ll be more than aware of our ever growing travel bucket lists! It seems new places are added daily! One place I’ve recently been reading up about, and would now LOVE to visit, is Phuket.
We’ve never been to Asia before and Phuket seems the perfect place to start. Here are just a few reasons why I’d love to visit Phuket.
Bang Tao beach, at 6km long, is one of the biggest in Phuket and is also one of the most family friendly areas. The beautiful long beach would be my kids’ absolute dream! There’s more than just white sand and turquoise sea though. There’s an excellent choice of restaurants, lovely little boutique shops and some of the word’s best beach clubs. During the months of May to November it’s also a great place to learn to surf which my eldest son would love.
There are some absolutely beautiful family villas in Bang Tao. We often struggle trying to find hotel rooms to accommodate the five of us, so a villa would be perfect for us. There’s some stunning ones, with private pools and access to a concierge team. It looks heavenly. I love that while the location and villas look idillic, there’s still plenty to do to keep both the kids and adults entertained.
The famous Phi Phi Island, as featured in the film The Beach, is a must do when in Phuket. It looks absolutely beautiful. From the towering cliffs to the beach-fronted jungle, it’s natural beauty at its best. You can get to Phi Phi Island by ferry if you’re staying in Bang Tao so it would be a must-do while in the area.
I love elephants. I love how huge and majestic they are, so I would never be able to pass up the opportunity to see them up close in an elephant sanctuary. The Elephant Retirement Park at Bang Tao takes the welfare of the elephants seriously, and only allows small groups. You are not permitted to ride the elephants (which I prefer) but visitors can still enjoy quite a lot of physical interaction including giving them a mud bath and a wash.
Another island we would love to visit is James Bond Island in Phang Nga Bay.

I would love to go to Phuket. The beaches are known all around the world and to see James Bond Island would be a dream come true.
Phuket sounds like a great place to visit. I would probably go to Phi Phi and James Bond Island.
I've never been to Phuket but it is definitely somewhere I would like to visit.
