We’re big fans of Ninja Warrior UK in this house. We love settling down to watch it as a family on a Saturday night. The kids can be heard chanting “beat the wall” and “I bet I could do that”. Well now they can! Or at least try…! Ninja Warrior UK has brought an adventure park to Wigan. Featuring various obstacles as seen on the show, as well as a designated area for under 4s, Ninja Warrior UK Wigan is the place to really test your skills. This is our Ninja Warrior UK Wigan review.
You can find Ninja Warrior UK Wigan on Stadium Way, right near the DW Stadium stadium. There’s plenty of parking both directly outside and round the corner from the building.
It’s £10 per person to gain entry into Ninja Warrior UK Wigan. This is the price for adults and children over 4 years old and includes the Ninja Warrior obstacles as well as a huge inflatable course. If you’re going to use the inflatable area included in the price, you need to purchase grip socks for £1.50. You can also buy gloves and headbands if you wish to. If you’re just observing, as myself and husband were, it’s free to enter. You’re given a white wristband to prove you’re just there as a spectator.
For children under 4 the price is £5.95 and they have their own designated inflatable area.
There’s an area with tables and chairs which can be used to observe those taking part of the course. You can also gets food and drinks from the cafe.
It’s also a great place to have a party. There’s three designated party rooms, and a place to store your belongings.
We have previously visited TruNinja in Warrington and had a great time but wondered how the two would compare. Obviously Ninja Warrior UK Wigan is an official adventure park rather than being loosely based on the show like TruNinja. Therefore the obstacles are slightly different.
Ninja Warrior Wigan has all the obstacles you would expect to see from the show, such as the stepping stones, hanging bars and obviously, the wall! There are actually two walls of varying heights so the children can have more of a chance of topping the smaller one!
There’s plenty of padding and foam squares throughout the course to cushion any landings which is reassuring from a safety standpoint. Our boys (7 and 10) loved tackling the obstacles and realising it’s much trickier than it appears on tv!
Our daughter is 4 so joined the boys on the course. Despite the age limit I do feel that most of the main obstacles were just too big for her. However that’s the great thing about the inflatable course being included in the price. It was huge and had it’s own version of the wall which was basically a giant slide! All three of our kids loved this! There are various obstacles within the inflatable section including the beam.
If you’re looking for fun days out with kids in Greater Manchester, you can’t go wrong with Ninja Warrior UK. We would say it’s a slightly larger version than TruNinja. The obstacles are more like what is seen in the show so it’s more of a realistic representation of what it’s really like. All three kids were exhausted by the end and two of them fell asleep on the way home. A sign of a good trip out!
