Welcome to our TruNinja Warrington review!
Having three kids stuck in the house during a rainy weekend is trying for all of us. We therefore try and get them out as much as possible to burn off some energy. This weekend we decided to head down to TruNinja Warrington. The kids are massive fans of Ninja Warrior UK and were excited to test out their own ninja skills.
It costs £9 for an hour for anyone aged 4 years and over. This price applies to adults and kids, as there are two separate courses depending on your age and ability. Adults not taking part, and just wishing to supervise (like us!) don’t need to pay.
TruNinja is situation on Chetham Court on Winwick Road in Warrington, Cheshire. It’s the same area where you’ll find Ten Pin Bowling and Swim! and it’s really easy to get to. There’s a big carpark that’s free to use.
We booked the kids’ session online and arrived a little early. The kids’ were given their coloured wristbands and told to read the “ninja rules”. We bought gloves for the boys as they were recommended to protect their hands. The gloves are £3 each, and you can buy a headband for £1.50.
As we were a little early we headed up to the cafe area upstairs that overlooks the whole course. We bought some drinks but didn’t try the food, although the ninja power packs do sound nice!
We supervised the kids through the course. Anna has just turned 4, so although she is old enough to take part, I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving her unaccompanied!
The adult course was to the left, with the kid’s course next to it on the right. The kid’s course is bigger than it initially seemed. There were climbing walls, roller beams, hanging bars and so much more. At the end of the course was the famous “Warped Wall” which was adapted to be suitable for children. The kids could then jump down onto the airbags below. We were informed that Anna was too small to jump, and had to slide back down the wall.
Anna was her usual fearless self and climbed to the top of the warped wall (while I watched with my heart in my mouth!) There was a member of staff on hand to help who was absolutely fantastic. He was supportive and encouraging to the kids and quick to help anyone struggling. He even helped my daughter retie her shoe before I could get to her.
There were some obstacles that Anna was just too small for but she attempted them in her own unique way! However the course was perfect for the boys (aged 7 and 9).
An hour might not seem like a long time, but our kids were exhausted by the time the hour had passed! And yet they were all reluctant to leave which is obviously a sign of a good time! We arrived at 11am which seemed to be a good time to visit as it wasn’t overly busy.
The kids really loved their time at TruNinja and we enjoyed watching them. It’s much more fun than soft play, that’s for sure! It also seems the perfect place for a birthday party, and we might look into it next year for our eldest. A fantastic day out!
