Does anything strike fear into a busy mum more than a broken washing machine?
As a mum of three playful and quite frankly grubby children, it feels like my washing machine is permanently on. From football kits to food stains, there is a permanent supply of washing needing to be done.
Therefore when my washing machine decided to stop draining and lock all our clothes inside it’s drum I could have cried. It’s been warning me for a while that it’s demise was nearing, and we’d done a few quick fixes but our poor old lady was finally done. She’d served us well. We’d had her a good few years and she’d worked tirelessly ensuring our clothes were fit to be worn. We were going to miss her. Sort of.
To add further insult to injury (it never rains but it pours, hey?) our tumble drier had also decided to go on the blink. So not only could I not wash our clothes, I couldn’t dry them either. Just what you want when it’s snowing outside like it was a few weeks ago!
So the rather tedious challenge of searching for their replacements commenced. We have a fitted kitchen with our washing machine slotting in nicely, but our tumble drier was dumped on the opposite side of the kitchen. We purchased the washing machine and were gifted the tumble drier at a later date and never really found a place for it that didn’t make it stand out like a sore thumb.
We therefore decided to opt for a washer drier. It would save space and also mean I could stick it on a wash / dry cycle. I can’t tell you how many times I washed clothes and forgot all about sticking them in the drier. I wouldn’t need to worry about that! Laziness for the win!
A washer-drier isn’t the most exciting way to spend your money, so I wanted to get as good a deal as possible. More money to spend on days out and bucket lists!
Latest Deals gives you a round up of the best deals on whatever you need, in our case a washer drier. They give you the best deals from large retailers that you know can be trusted, such as Argos, Currys and Tesco.
We eventually opted for one from Currys and, fingers crossed, he has been serving us well. No more damp clothes! No more fighting with the machine to get our clothes back.
Money well spent, and saved too!
