Ways to Raise Money for Charity

The good weather is starting to come in now and with it there is renewed inspiration to be active in the world and contribute. What better way to do this than to raise money for charity with a sponsor event or activity. In this post there are a few ideas to get you started. The list, however  is not extensive, let your imagination fly.

Do Favours For People

One easy way of raising money for a good cause is by doing favours for people. This is an excellent idea because it doesn’t require too much thinking or planning. All you have to do is think of a service you can offer and start asking around.

Maybe you are good at washing cars or windows, or perhaps you can mow the lawn for an old person. Make sure you explain that you’re doing this to raise money for charity and that you’re willing to work hard.

Give Up Your Phone

There are many great things about the Internet but one of them is the ease of access to people and groups that support charity activities. These days you can easily promote your activity on social media and gather funds remotely.

Giving something up for a period, such as a smartphone, is a really good way to raise money for a Tarbert charity and also raise awareness about smartphone addiction. This one is easy to do and quite effective.

Fun Run

There’s never a better time than the spring to organise a fun run for students at the school. A fun run is a charity event where participants have to negotiate a run with various obstacles along the way. It is a non competitive event for the purpose of raising funds for charity.

Kids love to get outdoors and exercise, especially when the weather is nice. That’s one reason the spring is the ideal time to organise a fun run. On the day of the event the school or community centre will be awash with colour and you will raise money and promote your school.

Sponsored Walks

In some ways a sponsored walk is similar to a fun run. It’s an activity designed to raise money for charity, but it’s also a way of exercising and giving yourself a fitness goal. Unlike a run or a marathon there is not much training required.

Still, your sponsored walk will require some planning and organising. You will have to plan your route and decide how to raise funds in the community. Online platforms and social media are an excellent and straightforward way to do this.

Give Something Up

If you gave something up for lent and it’s nearly over you might not want to start over and give something up again. On the other hand you might have found it so easy and straightforward that you would do it again tomorrow. Giving something is not just good for lent, it’s also good for raising money.

Your smartphone is not the only thing you can give up if you want to raise money for charity. You might give up a bad habit or go on a diet. Whatever you choose it should be something that challenges you in some way and isn’t too enjoyable, otherwise it becomes a hard sell.

This is a collaborative post.
