From the 4th July 2020 hotels and other holiday accommodations are reopening to the public. With lockdown slowly being lifted your thoughts may be turning towards a well deserved break away. It’s been a rough six months for most of us. With international travel being uncertain at the moment, now could be the time to really appreciate the country we live in.
While we do enjoy travelling abroad and visiting new places, I’m also a big advocate for holidaying in the UK. There’s some beautiful places to visit. We loved Northern Ireland, and have enjoyed fantastic holidays in both Wales and Newquay. Torquay also has a special place in my heart.
However, there is one particular place we hold dear and that’s the Lake District. The stunning scenery, lake views and mountains make it one of the most beautiful places to visit within the UK.
There are so many reasons to love the Lake District. One of the great things is you can have whatever kind of trip or holiday you wanr. There are tourist attractions such as castles and gardens and Beatrix Potter exhibitions. There’s the quaint little shops and cafes and the famous gingerbread shop in Grasmere.
However if you’re looking for a more secluded, relaxing holiday, the Lake District could not be more perfect. There are many cottages, cabins and holiday homes if you prefer a quieter holiday. Enjoy the lake and mountain views and enjoy your vacation at your own pace. There’s forest and woods to explore, beautiful waterfalls and valleys to admire. It could be the perfect relaxing trip you’ve been hoping for.
There are so many things to do and places to explore within the Lake District. Whether you’re feeling adventurous, looking to escape the hustle and bustle or simply want to try some gingerbread, here are just a few suggestions for things to do during your visit.
Obviously we still need to take precautions when travelling this summer. We need to be mindful of the risk to not only ourselves and our families, but also to those around us. Written below are a few safety tips.

Wonderful photos! I adore the Lake District. Everything from the scenary, the wildlife, the walks, the Lakes. Such a beautiful part of the country.
The Lake District is less than 2 hours away from us so this is one place which my whole family loves as we go there often. Will be following your tips when we head there at the end of Summer break
How beautiful! The place is so idyllic, it is really a must-visit place. I wish we lived closer. That would be the first place we'd visit after the lock down.
I know a few people that have stayed at different places in the Lake District, they have all said its a beautiful place to visit, and certainly one of those that we still need to do, great post.
I have never been to the Lake District, but I have always heard it is a wonderful place to go, so I want to go sometime!
We have been to the Lake District a few times but have so much more to explore. It is such a beautiful place
I have to say this is somewhere I've always wanted to visit. I love being in areas that are surrounded by natural beauty. It really helps me relax.
