Me and My Pet Book : Personalised Pet Book Review and Giveaway

My son turned nine this week and buying gifts for him always proves to be more of a challenge than when we buy for his siblings. My other two children always have a good idea what they’d like for birthdays and Christmas whereas Ben never really has a clue! He often asks us for a “surprise”. My lovely, creative, gentle little man isn’t into sports like his peers. He loves animals especially his pet rabbit Harry. So when we were given the opportunity to review a personalised Me and My Pet Book, we knew it would make the perfect gift.

In The Book specialise in personalised books for both adults and children. We have bought a few personalised books as gifts over the years but I’ve never seen a personalised pet book before.

Not only can you have the names of both the child and the pet personalised, but also what they look like. You can choose which pet you would like, from a variety of options including dog, cat, hamster, pony and even a dragon! Then you can specify the breed where applicable and their colouring. Ours was pretty simple as Harry is a completely white rabbit!

We then got to personalise the appearance of “Ben” in the book, including his hair and clothing. We were also able to add a personalised message which was great considering it was for a gift.

We selected the hardback copy and chose the option to have the book presented in a luxury gift box.

The book arrived a couple of days after ordering (there are several delivery options if you want the book to come earlier) and we were really pleased with it.

The gift box was a lovely addition and helped prolong the excitement of opening the gift. It was lovely watching Ben’s little face as he realised this was no ordinary book!

Our personalised message was added below Ben and Harry’s name on the first page of the book. It makes it such a lovely keepsake to look back on.

The story is age appropriate and highlights the importance of looking after your pet. It helps encourage responsibility and is a lovely take on the love a child can have for their pet.

Ben was delighted to find the photograph of him and Harry added to the end of the story! I love that it will not only encourage his love of reading, but his love for Harry too.
