Haven’t you heard? Holidays are coming!
Yes I’m that person. I love Christmas and it’s never to early to get into the festive spirit!
Nothing gets us more in the Christmas spirit than watching a festive show in the run up to the big day. It’s become something of a family Christmas tradition for us. This year the North West is host to some fantastic productions that we’re really excited about.
The popular Snowman Tour returns to the North West in 2018, and is tipped to be better than ever. With bonus productions at each venue, and a visit from the Snowman himself, it’s sure to be another huge success. We’re massive fans of the Raymond Briggs’ classic and can’t wait to watch it with a live orchestra.

Another Raymond Briggs classic, Father Christmas is coming to the Waterside Arts Centre this December. This is my husband’s favourite Christmas film and so the stage adaptation is sure to be a massive hit with us! To get your “bloomin’ Christmas” off to a great start, book your tickets here.
The award winning Hope Mill Theatre will be be host to Jackie Hagan’s new and exciting show this December: The Forest of Forgotten Discos.
“There is a mystery in the forest – everyone has forgotten about dancing and bright lights and disco. Even Alexa – the virtual assistant from the Amazon Rainforest – can’t tell us why.”
Featuring three bears, Bear Hug, Bear Minimum and Bear Grills, I already can’t wait to take the kids to see this one!
Tickets are selling fast and some dates are already sold out so to book your tickets quickly!

Suitable for children aged two to four years old, Catherine Wheels present White. White is a playful and vibrant production aimed specifically at young children. Living in a world of white, the characters need to learn to embrace change as colour suddenly appears in their all white world.
White has received fantastic reviews (including one from Sarah Jessica Park no less!) and I can’t wait to take my youngest along to see it.
Slapstick is an ode to Charlie Chaplin, Spike Hones and Laurel & Hardy, with a modern twist! It won the 2017 Edinburgh Spirit of the Fringe Award and with live music and physical comedy, it’s sure to be a big hit with the kids.
Slapstick will be at HOME theatre between the 13th and 22nd of December.
Are you seeing any shows this Christmas? Let me know in the comments!
I have been offered complimentary tickets to the upcoming shows in exchange for an honest review. The reviews will be live after we have visited the productions. As always opinions are my own.

I'm SO that person too. Some fantastic festive events listed here!
I really want to see the snowman tour, hoping it comes near me this year
Aww these all sound amazing! I'd love to watch a festive show, if only they were closer to me!
Have fun going to all these shows. It does feel like a great thing to do on an autumn evening or afternoon.
All of these shows look great - I would love to take my nephew to see The Snowman :)

I love the theatre and would. Live to go and see both The Snowman and Father Christmas. They are a staple in our house at Christmas. I hope you enjoy them all. X
Definitely sharing these with my brother as they are in the North West, I need to find something similar in my area as I want to see the Snowman Tour big time.
Oh I am 'that' person too! We have started watching Christmas movies already and are counting down. Some great shows here. Kaz
So many good shows on. I’d absolutely love to see the snowman- what an experience that would be.
It may only be October still, but the feel for Christmas is starting to creep in and it is a lovely feeling. Going to see a show is a wonderful way to enjoy the festive spirit, and these are some perfect examples. The Snowman is such a brilliant story, it would be wonderful to go with children.
