Five Overlooked Things to Pack When Travelling

When you’re preparing to take a trip, you’ll find that your mind wanders to all the fun things that you’re going to do once you’ve touched down. However, in order to make the most of your trip, you’ll first need to make a list and prepare what you’re going to put in your luggage. While we’re all pretty good at packing the essentials that we’ll need (underwear, socks, a stylish outfit for those trips to fancy bars), we often forget some things that can be just as important. Below, we’ll outline some of the overlooked things that you’ll definitely want to pack for your trip!

Comfortable Clothes

We all want to look good at times when we’re out there on our travels. However, it’s always worthwhile keeping in mind that it’s not the most important thing! The first priority should be that you’re comfortable. Stylish clothes look good, but they’re not the most relaxing items that we can wear. Be sure to pack some comfortable items, ones that you know you can wear for hours without wishing to take them off. They’ll come in handy during all points of the trip, but especially when you’re physically travelling, such as on a plane or train.

Medication and Pain Relief

You’ll hope that you always feel great when you’re travelling, but there are, of course, no guarantees. And if you do have physical problems when you’re abroad, then you’ll want to just grab medication that can help relieve the symptoms, rather than try to find a pharmacy (which may not speak your language anyway). So be sure to pack a small first aid kit with heartburn liquid, uti tablets, and paracetamol. All going well, you won’t need them, but if you do, then you’ll be extra glad that you thought to bring them with you.

Unexpected Weather

You’ll have a basic understanding of what the weather will be like in the destination you’re visiting — indeed, the weather may be the whole reason that you’re visiting the place. However, while a destination may be mostly sunny, it’s important to remember the key word there is mostly. What if there’s a chilly night, or a torrential downpour while you’re there? Be sure to pack at least one or two items of clothing that’ll be appropriate for those weather blips.

Skin Care

After a long journey you may find your skin could do with a pick me up. Being on holiday isn’t an excuse to forget your skincare routine! You can get a great skincare travel set that combines all your beauty must haves in one compact size.

Earplugs and Eye Mask

There’s nothing worse than trying to get to sleep, but finding it difficult because of outside noise or light. Though your hotel room might be great, there’s no guarantee that the people in the streets will stay quiet all night through. As such, you’ll want to consider packing earplugs and an ear mask, just in case there’s too much going on for you to sleep well.
