Disneyland Hotel Paris Review
It was our tenth wedding anniversary in December and as a family treat, we decided to book Christmas at Disneyland Paris. As ever when we’re looking to go on holiday we have to search for hotels that fit all five of us in one room. We were delighted to see the Disneyland Hotel could accommodate us all and the location looked perfect so we went ahead and booked it.
The Disneyland Hotel could not be more perfectly situated, it’s right at the gates to the Disneyland Park. Our family room was situated towards the back of the hotel but it had its own lift straight down to the parks. It meant if we wanted to get to the parks earlier we still had time to enjoy our breakfast without having to rush to catch a shuttle bus or add a long walk to our journey.
Our daughter was three when we went and the location of the hotel made the whole trip so much easier. She hadn’t used a pushchair for years and was used to walking a lot, but we were warned about the sheer amount of walking that would be done. They weren’t wrong! Having the hotel so close made it so much easier on her little legs and we were glad we didn’t opt to take a pushchair.
We stayed for the illuminations and fireworks as the park closed each night, and we were glad not to have to join the rush to hop on the shuttle buses. It meant we could take our time and enjoy the park while it was quieter as everyone else was leaving.
It also meant when the weather was a bit grim we could pop back to the hotel for a swim and return to the parks when the weather was a bit brighter.
You can’t miss the beauty of the exterior of the Disneyland Hotel. Its huge pink presence can’t be missed! But it was just as lovely inside.
Obviously, as we visited in December the decor was Christmas themed. We were greeted by the biggest indoor Christmas tree I’ve ever seen and a real gingerbread house! The smell was divine!
There were Christmas decorations and garlands throughout the hotel which added to our Christmas excitement. There was another huge tree by the restaurants as well as an advent calendar. The smell here was less appealing! I’m not sure what the scent was but it was particularly strong and in my opinion, not overly pleasant.
We had a superior family room and we loved it. It may be slightly dated (the hotel is going to have a re-vamp next year I believe) but it was absolutely immaculate. We had two double beds and a sofa bed to accommodate all five of us. The room was huge, and there was still space for a table, chairs and plenty of storage. There was gorgeous Disney character decor throughout the room.
There were robes and slippers for us on our arrival and the slippers could be taken home with us. It was little touches like this that made the experience special. The Mickey Mouse themed toiletries, turndown service and little cards left on the beds each night…everything was perfect.
We were towards the back of the hotel and had a lovely view of the gardens from our room.
There’s free wifi throughout the hotel including our rooms which was a welcome bonus. The rooms also had televisions, complete with English-speaking Disney channels.
There’s a mini bar if you fancy taking out a mortgage for a diet coke! It was crazily expensive so we steered clear!
There’s a swimming pool that’s for residents only. We used it during the day when it was particularly busy or rainy and it was a welcome break from all the hustle and bustle. There was only us in there one of the days we went! There’s also a fitness centre, sauna, steam bath and spa.
They have a Minnie Club Playroom with trained supervision and a video games room for older kids (surcharges apply).
There’s the Galerie Mickey shop where you’ll find everything from souvenirs, toys, clothes and drinks. They also sold collectable pins, including Disneyland Hotel exclusives.
On the first floor, you’ll find Inventions, California Grill and Cafe Fantasia. Cafe Fantasia is a bar with a piano and where you can order a famous Glowtini!
Inventions and California Grill are both restaurants. We didn’t visit California Grill but we had breakfast each morning inside Inventions and also had an evening meal with the characters. We couldn’t fault the service here and the view from our table was spectacular.
If you were too tired to head out to eat the hotel also offers room service.
As with all Disneyland Resort hotels you are entitled to magic hours each morning of your stay. This means you get to access the parks an hour before it opens to everyone else. This is a great time to head to the more popular rides which during normal opening hours had queue times of over 2 hours! We also used this time to see characters such as Mickey Mouse and Goofy.
We were all entitled to a hotel fast pass per person per day. This meant we could choose a ride each every day where we could skip the queues and head to the front. These are definitely worth saving for the most popular rides, especially those not open during Magic Hours.
The hotel has a concierge who is available to help with booking restaurants and giving general advice. He was lovely and really helpful when I was confused about how to book the character breakfasts.
The luggage service was fantastic. We were met by luggage porters when we arrived who whisked our luggage away to our rooms. We also used the service on our final day after check out so we could enjoy our last day in the parks.
Whilst every hotel has characters in the morning, we saw quite a few characters dotted around the hotel. We saw Mickey a few times as he was going for a break from Inventions and delighted my daughter by tapping her on the head and pretending to hide.
Honestly, it was absolutely magical and worth every single penny. From the practical location to the magical small touches, it was everything I hoped it would be. If your dear ones spend time there without you, you can easily send gifts to France. Hotel staff will take care that your recipient gets it. The perfect place for a family vacation or celebrating your children’s birthday.

I'm glad to hear that the Disneyland Hotel can accommodate 5 in a room. Much easier than splitting the family up I bet!
The Disneyland Hotel sounds absolutely magical. How great that it can accommodate 5 in a room.
We got six into Hotel New York. I would love to stay in the Disneyland hotel though
We would love to stay in the Disneyland Hotel. We stayed at Sequoia lodge as a family of 4.
Handy that you can get 5 in a room now :) We are a family of 5 but I don't think this was available when we were children so we stayed outside Disney x
I have never stayed at a Disney hotel before. I actually never even think about Disney for hotels, but perhaps I should!
This looks like a great hotel to stay at. I would love to go to Disneyland Paris one day.
I love Disneyland better than Disney World as hotels are so close to the park. This looks like a great place to stay.
good accommodation, it must be a great family adventure
Oh that hotel sounds magical. I've never stayed at a Disney hotel before but this one sounds like a great place to start.
