Lola’s Coffee Bags From The Speciality Coffee Company

I think we could all do with a bit of a pick-me-up in the morning. Mornings are quite hectic in our house trying to get three children ready for school while my husband and I attempt to get ourselves ready for work. Coffee is the perfect remedy for bleary eyes and early morning grumpiness.

Therefore when we were offered the opportunity to try Lola’s Coffee Bags From The Speciality Coffee Company, we jumped at the chance.

About The Speciality Coffee Company

The Speciality Coffee Company work hard to create the most tasty, ethical and sustainable coffee they can. The term ‘Specialty coffee’ is used to refer to coffee that is graded 80 points or above on a 100 point scale by a certified coffee taster or by a licensed Q Grader. What makes speciality coffee so great? The coffee has been grown at the perfect altitude, at the correct time of year, in the best soil, and then picked at just the right time. The result is an amazingly tasty beverage.

The Speciality Coffee Company’s mission is to trade fairly with small scale producers in developing countries which allows their customers to make ethical choices. Wherever possible The Speciality Coffee Company source their coffee directly. This is known as direct trade coffee (as opposed to fair trade). Purchasing directly from the farmer establishes a direct relationship between the purchaser and the farmer. This means not only are the farmers getting a better deal, but the purchasers also benefit as they have more control over the quality and type of coffee beans they’re supplied with. This results in not only amazingly tasty coffee but a much fairer deal all round.

Lola’s Coffee Bags

We’ve never tried coffee in a bag before. To be honest I wasn’t even aware such a thing existed! However after trying them I don’t know why they’re not more mainstream. They’re a fantastic idea and create such a convenient way to enjoy your coffee.

Each of Lola’s Coffee Bags are individually wrapped which make them ideal for on the go. They can be taken on holiday or to work and you’ll know you’re always getting deliciously fresh coffee.

They’re as convenient and simple to use as tea bags. You simply add the coffee bag to your mug, boil the kettle, add your water and milk and sugar as desired. Simple! Even better than the simplicity is the taste. For an instant coffee it has a surprisingly strong and rich flavour. The rich blend of Lola’s coffee bags comprise of Sumatra Gayo, Brazilian Arabica, and Indian Robustam, resulting in a smoky delicious flavour. They also have a high caffeine content for that early morning boost!

For a coffee that is not only ethically sourced but delicious too, you can’t get much better than Lola’s Coffee Bags. You can buy a case of 100 for £33, which works out at just 33p per bag. A great deal all round!
