5 Things to Check Before Ordering Microfiber Towels Online

Microfiber towels have become increasingly popular, and for a good reason. They are incredibly light, yet they absorb a considerable amount of water than their regular counterparts. You can also use them repeatedly without any signs of strains. In some cases, they are sufficient to eliminate the need for any cleaning agents, making them perfect for the athletes, swimmers, and, well, everybody else.

Although there is no official grading scale for microfiber towels, websites like wovii.com offer the best quality at the most affordable prices online. However, industry experts have their methods for determining the quality and durability of a microfiber towel.

Let’s look at a few things you should keep in mind when buying a microfiber towel online. Keep in mind that you can check these parameters in the specifications of any microfiber towel selling brand. If the brand does not list the towel specifications, then it is better to avoid that brand.

Blend

Most microfiber towels have a blend made of 80% polyester and 20% polyamide. Another combination is 70% polyester and 30% polyamide. While there are ongoing debates about which blend is better, you need to make sure that your purchasing towel has one of these two blends.

If the specification states that the microfiber towel consists of 100% polyester, you should avoid that type as they neither clean well nor are very good at absorption. The primary difference between a microfiber towel and a regular towel is that regular towels only wipe away the spilled liquid. In contrast, microfiber towels soak up a significant amount of it.

Split

The microfiber is made of polyester and polyamide. These two fibres are interlocked and woven together to create a pattern similar to a pie’s shape. This pattern is the main reason for microfiber towels to grab dirt and small particles with relative ease compared to regular towels.

This pattern is also the primary reason microfiber towels can get the job done without any cleaning agents. But the above features are only available in a split microfiber towel. A non-split microfiber towel is ideal for dusting, but it won’t grab small particles like a split microfiber. So make sure that the microfiber you are buying is a split microfiber. Online sites have a wide range with the right features you may be looking for.

Denier

As mentioned earlier, microfiber towels work best when they are split microfiber. While being a split microfiber means that the towel will pick up the smallest of particles, you must also remember that the smaller the fibre in the split, the more effectively it will clean. Microfibers are measured in denier, which refers to the diameter of each thread. A fibre with a diameter of 10 micrometres or less than one denier will be ideal.

While microfiber towels with a 0.5 denier measurement can get the job done pretty well, some brands offer microfibers with deniers as low as 0.2 to 0.1. Most brands will not display this information unless directly asked, so make sure you inquire about the deniers of the microfiber you are going for. Remember, the lesser the denier, the better the towel.
